Eurotecnica’s Euromel® G5 chosen for record-breaking melamine plant in Egypt

15 January 2024, Milan, Italy – Eurotecnica, the world’s leader in the licensing, design and implementation of melamine plants, and an integral part of the Proman family of companies, a global leader in natural gas derived products and services, has been selected by Helwan Fertilizers Company (HFC) S.A.E for the implementation of a world scale melamine plant based on proprietary Euromel® G5 Melamine Technology.

When completed the facility will be the most modern melamine plant in Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, boasting a nameplate capacity of 60,000 tons per annum, confirming Eurotecnica Euromel® as the technology of choice in this area.

The melamine plant, scheduled to be commissioned by 2027, will be strategically located in the vicinity of Helwan district, south of Cairo, Egypt. This prime location ensures proximity to essential resources and markets, facilitating seamless operations and distribution.

Once operational, the plant will be a significant contributor to HFC’s portfolio and will also play a vital role in meeting the growing demand for melamine in the region.
