Celebrating the achievements of the Proman Foundation through the transformative work of our partners across Trinidad and Tobago

9 November 2023, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago  – The Proman Foundation brought together its flagship partners and beneficiary organisations to celebrate the achievements of the Foundation and its projects across Trinidad and Tobago at its Power of Partnerships event.

Since the inception of the Foundation in October 2022, over TT$3.8 million has been disbursed in funding to organisations aligned with the Foundation’s core corporate social responsibility (CSR) pillars. This investment has enabled the delivery of high-impact sustainable programmes to over 7,200 beneficiaries in more than 60 communities nationally, supported by the contribution of over 600 volunteer hours from Proman employees.

The Power of Partnerships event was hosted at the Proman Starlift House of Music in Woodbrook on November 8th and featured the steelpan talent of the Proman Starlift Steel Orchestra, one of the 8 flagship partners of the Foundation. The event showcased the impact of the programmes delivered through the Foundation and its partners, sharing the transformative work being implemented throughout our communities.

In recognition of the work done, Proman Trinidad’s Executive Director and Chairman of the Proman Foundation, Claus Cronberger, remarked:

“I feel immensely proud of the achievements of the Proman Foundation and the work being done by our partners and employees to positively impact the lives of thousands of people across Trinidad and Tobago. By working closely with our partners, we continue to implement programmes that are delivering positive change within the communities we serve, while building the capacity and skills of our people to develop sustainable livelihoods. I thank our Proman staff who are involved in every aspect of the Foundation, from nominating partnerships and championing local causes, to leading the Foundation’s volunteer efforts to deliver transformative change through our partnerships.”

Cronberger continued, “To our programme partners, I thank you for the significant work done to deliver essential support through your life-changing interventions. I look forward to our continued collaboration to deliver even more opportunities for development across our country.”

The event also celebrated the success of the Prince’s Trust International (PTI) ‘Achieve Programme’, one of the Proman Foundation’s flagship partnerships in Trinidad and Tobago. This global charity commenced its work locally in 2019 and implemented the Achieve Programme through the National Training Agency of Trinidad and Tobago. The programme supports young people in traditional and non-traditional education environments to build their personal development skills and/or re-engage in their educational accreditation journey. During the event, the 2023 Prince’s Trust Young Achiever Award for the Caribbean was awarded to Adrian Whiteman, an outstanding graduate of the Achieve Programme in Trinidad. To date, over 560 young persons have benefitted from programmes implemented by PTI in 14 educational institutions across Trinidad and Tobago.

Commenting on their achievements, International Programmes Manager – Caribbean (Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago) for Prince’s Trust International, Siddel Ramkissoon remarked:

“We are thrilled by the strong support received from Proman for our work in Trinidad and Tobago. This has enabled us to reach hundreds of young people with our delivery partners the National Training Agency of Trinidad and Tobago and the Volunteer Center of Trinidad and Tobago. Our work in the traditional and non-traditional education system has allowed us to reach young people, like Adrian, who successfully completed our Achieve program and is now excelling in his barbering business. I’m proud that we’re able to highlight his achievements through the 2023 Prince’s Trust Young Achiever Award for the Caribbean.”

Through the power of partnerships, the Proman Foundation will continue to give back to Trinidad and Tobago, supporting innovative programmes which facilitate sustainable change in local communities and support young people to reach their potential.
